The Matoi is a 17th century Japanese firefighter's symbol.  The Matoi symbol gave courage, hope and leadership to the firefighters.  Just as a Matoi symbolized courage in ancient Japan, we will give every effort to serve and prepare the best sushi and Japanese cuisine this side of the earth, just for YOU!

Established in 1988, we have been known for serving nothing but the highest quality American, Korean and Japanese cuisine.  Formerly known as Sam Oh Jung, we still remain the best Sushi bar in Tampa Bay with the friendliest atmosphere.
